The fridge bandit

Now that James has mastered his walker, nothing is safe. We are getting a sneak peak at our baby-proofing tasks. The first time we opened the fridge he took off towards all the bright treasures inside. You see, James has a weakness for bottles: his soap bottle, salad dressing, water bottles, etc. We caught him on film "helping" get ready for dinner. He loves to putter around the kitchen & under mom's watchful eye, he's found out that getting around is pretty fun stuff. Walker time is filled with squeals of glee - from James - and looks of uncertainty from the pup Brodie as James plots how to get into his water bowl...

The Progression of James

When James was born, his Aunt Alison sent a special birthday bear with the instructions to take a monthly picture of the two side by side to chart his growth. Every now and again, it's fun to look at the "before" and "after" pictures. We stare in awe over how much he's changed and how he's grown. Going from 5 lbs 9 oz. at his tiniest to over 19 lbs today, James has proven that he's no longer the little guy.

A busy day

James took a trip up to his great aunt Jane's house to help her move into her new apartment. It was an exciting day for everyone. Before the furniture was in, he took a quick spin in his favorite toy - his jumpie (note the blue tape where the furniture was going). We didn't get a chance to take any after pictures but we'll get some copies from Jane to post! James took a must needed snooze in his new carseat on the way home. What a nice ending to a great weekend.

James goes to a birthday party

Today was James' first experience with birthday parties and party he did. Here's a few shots of James and the birthday boy sharing some toys. James kept a close eye on the bigger kids who are already "on the go" and in turn, practiced taking a few steps of his own holding onto dad's hands. Let's hope that all the partying he did today means a good night sleep for all tonight!

SNOW DAY!

It's been snowing since 3am and forecasters expect 10-12 inches! James is busy watching out the window at the falling snow. He's become more curious of the white stuff. Hopefully dad gets home before dark so we can all go out and play!

James sometimes likes to wear his food. One particular prune day, he posed for this shot after finishing his meal. These days, we need to do the continual shovel of food into a very eager mouth, a far cry from where we started!

A Boy and His Dog
James and Brodie are already becoming great friends. After every meal, James offers Brodie the leftovers on his hands. Both boys enjoy their mutual give and take - James gets clean hands and Brodie gets a taste of everything from pears to peas. Just wait until the Cheerios come out...
