To be a child again...

There really is no greater joy than watching James and Kaitlyn grow up. We are reminded again and again what an amazing gift we have in them. Kaitlyn has mastered her voice and singing ability and typically uses it all, day, long...loudly. It makes us all giggle and James is always asking "What is Kaitlyn saying???"
The past week or so we've gone Easter egg hunting, gone to a party at Mr Turtle school, we've dyed eggs twice, watched Kaitlyn relish in her sweet potatoes and demand more and more. One of us decided it was finally time to debut his knowledge of the entire ABC song in perfect pitch never missing a letter, something mom thought he just didn't want to learn. Best of all, after months and months of James asking...mom found on ebay the matching trailer for his beloved tractor. Sometimes we wish we could bottle up all of these great moments in life!

Watch out world, Kaitlyn's eating

We've started slow, but our little girl seems to like the food thing a bit more than her brother. Brother James enjoys Kaitlyn's new position at the table in her high chair and Kaitlyn is pretty excited to be up with the family at mealtime too! Next job for the blogger is to catch the smiles we see so often but are too caught up with orchestrating "life" to snap a photo! Can't believe how quick the time is going by...

Happy St Patrick's Day!

What's a St Pat's celebration without your leprechaun hat, your faithful pal, your super cool authentic rubgy from Ireland from your super cool Uncle Barry and Aunt Cindy, and...NO PANTS?
It must be instinct or just in the genes to wear a fireman's hat on St Patricks Day. Parade next year? Luckily for Kaitlyn, James did not leave her out and lended her his other hat for this picture.
Isn't there a picture of mommy making this exact face from a St Pat's celebration a loooong time ago??
There's the pretty girl in all her chubby-ness. We have our Guinness chilling in the fridge and our corned beef cooking away. Looking forward to celebrating when dad gets home. Slainte!

Firsts

The past few days have brought us a few "firsts".
1. First time Kaitlyn was introduced to the beloved Jumpy. Like her brother, it took her about 5 seconds to realize how super fun this contraption was. Now, it's the only thing she wants to be in. Even when she's in her saucer, she's crashing it trying to bounce. James is a-ok with his sister's new toy once it passed the tractor test (that is, anything is acceptable if he can still drive his tractor around it).

2. Kaitlyn turned 5 months on mommy's birthday. Now we were hoping for the first tooth but it has still yet to pop thru. Just be careful passing any hand, arm or face past Kaitlyn's mouth because she is sure to grab hold and shove whatever she can into her mouth and begin chomping.

3. The first trip to the ER for James. This frightful event happend on mom's watch while we prepared for Mr Turtle school. James lost his footing while maneuvering past Kaitlyn's toys and smashed his chin against the frame of the couch. Instant swelling and loss of jaw opening ability prompted us to pay the dentist a visit and then proceed to the ER. Thankfully, there were no chipped teeth or broken bones. Just a very sore little boy. It didn't end on a bad note though, Daddy came home from work that night with some beloved characters from the movie Cars to cheer up the boy.
