mid 3 months...

We are enjoying our winter! Quick update - Kaitlyn is doing a lot of talking and drooling. She's gotten interested in toys and we've even tested her out in the excersaucer. Another week perhaps and she'll be able to hang out in there unassisted. We wonder if she'll get her teeth early like her brother. Unlike her brother though, she SLEEPS and only complains about life when she's tired or hungry. James is making us laugh with all his "two-isms". He's now in his full-sized big boy bed which he proclaimed was "just perfect" the first time he got into it. He is getting ready to visit another preschool this week and, by the beginning of February, he will be signed up for the September start date (a month before his sister turns ONE). Very surreal how fast time goes by...

Kaitlyn's Baptism

We were blessed on Sunday to celebrate our Kaitlyn's Baptism. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful little girl. Unlike her brother James during his Baptism, Kaitlyn was a perfect sweet angel for both the ceremony and the party that followed. We feel so blessed to have such a happy and healthy family and thank everyone for their love and support!

Kaitlyn is very lucky to have such wonderful Godparents who love her so much! Thank you Alison and Barry.

Christmas 2009

Happy Holidays to everyone! After recoupering yesterday, we wanted to post quickly about Christmas.
Kaitlyn enjoyed her first Christmas and James nearly burst at the seams Christmas morning when he saw all the presents Santa left for him. We had fun watching him open his gifts, which after they were all open, we realized that our loot resembled that of a 4H farm family from Arkansas. We have one very happy boy who is enjoying his wheelbarrow and wooden barn stocked with farm animals. We're also finding it normal to be saying things like "fine, you can take the goose into the shower tonight" or "why did you put the goat in the dog's bowl?"
What fun!

Christmas picture event:
Homebound all day
80 pictures in 8 hours of on and off photo shoots
4 naps combined (none of those were mom)
The same outfit on each child (sort of)
No crying (no one accidentally hit anyone either)
Bribery included (thank heaven for hershey kisses)
Now, was there a good picture that came out of all of that? YES!

7 weeks

repost of the pic that didnt come thru and a few of Kaitlyn on mom's lap. She's been "true" smiling for about a week now and it was a little tough to catch it on camera while she was on the lap of the photographer, but here's a sneak peek. Now weighing in at 8 lbs 6 oz, she's packed on 3 lbs and 6 oz since coming home from the hospital! Yay for the chunky monkey ~

The 1 month picture, the second child version

Here is Kaitlyn on her one month birthday. Aunt Alison, aka Aunt Aggie, gave James a similar bear when he was born that we took monthly pictures with. We are doing the same tradition with Kaitlyn. However...we thought it was good to show what REALLY happens with the second born child. Keep in mind, James' versions of these pictures are quiet, beautiful shots of a baby growing up. We have a feeling Kaitlyn's story is going to end up being a bit more hectic. The great news is that in 4 short weeks, Kaitlyn gained 2 whole pounds and is doing great. Mom, dad and big brother are thrilled with how well little sister is doing!
